Virtual schools is a programme which focuses on supporting looked after children to provide the best possible opportunities.
Our role in this is to establish physical activity opportunities (one off events and weekly sessions), providing new experiences with young people of similar experiences to further their involvement and enjoyment, developing leadership pathways, removing barriers and raising self-esteem and confidence. We want all young people to have a positive relationship with physical activity and sport, and the chance to encounter role models to raise their aspirations. This therefore increases engagement in a variety of sports creating connections to allow for future participation.
We also offer continued professional development (CPD) opportunities for everyone involved in this work, supporting the expansion of the wider workforce across the two counties.
We do this in partnership with Virtual Schools Staff at Herefordshire and Worcestershire County Councils.
